The Dummy Face

Our 'Dummy Face' logo is what your get when you have a 90s kid who grew up using text faces and emojis crossing over with Picasso's cubism artwork.

It started off as simply typing out random letters and text faces on a keyboard one night in an attempt to come up with a brand name. Of the many options brainstormed, ' OLO ' was one of them, resembling a confused/shocked emoticon. For a period of time, OLO was intended to be the brand name, however, it was ultimately decided against because it didn't feel like it was suited to apparel. 

After a few weeks of not being able to come up with another brand name, we felt like we needed to progress the project and just use a placeholder name which is how 'Dummy' (meaning substitute) came about, and 'Label' was added to represent apparel. The original intent was to come up with another name down the line, however, the goofy nature of the ' OLO ' face lent itself quite nicely to the 'Dummy Label' name. We tilted the face a bit and sprinkled some influence from Picasso's cubism paintings and we arrive at what the 'Dummy Face' logo is today. 

Meet Our Mascot

We asked Tiktok to help name our mascot leading up to launch and after careful consideration of all the suggestions, we present to you, the distinguished gentlemen - OLOVER. 

Often found wearing his signature hat, Olover was created as a way to personify the brand's wholesome and whimsical personality. He is feature the illustration on the pilot launch tote.
